Incepted in 1919, the Somerset County Business Partnership is the gold standard of community activism in Somerset County.
Their unique public/private partnership with county businesses and government allows this prestigious group to integrate and introduce respective businesses of Somerset County and apply the talents of those entities and individuals to lead the county in job growth, sustainability, charity, education, tourism and economic development.

Rick Fontana was a recipient of The Outstanding Citizen of the Year award by the Somerset County Business Partnership, for exemplary volunteer efforts demonstrating creativity, vision, leadership, and citizenship by providing service to programs and activities that positively impact the welfare of the Somerset County community.
“The Citizen of the Year honor and the gathering of friends and business associates recognizing a lifetime of achievement is one of the signature events in Somerset County,’ stated Frank Steinberg, Chairman of the Business Partnership, in acknowledgement of Rick’s nomination. “The list of people receiving this honor represents the leadership that made our county great. As much as this is an honor for Rick, it is an event that pays tribute to all who have gone before him.”
Rick was a former Freeholder for 12 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
